July 9: Chesterton and Evil
Our readings on Chesterton and Shaw provoked a question from some members: how could Chesterton be friends with such a devilish creature? This month we probe Chesterton's interior life a bit in the way he encountered and confronted evil/darkness through some chosen writings:
Our resources for this month:
June 11th: Manalive!
Join us for our next meeting on June 11th, where we will be revisiting a work we've read before (back in 2015) - Chesterton's highly original novel, Manalive!
While an easy read, this book is packed with some of the most quintessential elements of Chesterton's philosophy, condensed into and embodied in the eponymous character Innocent Smith.
You can read the book online here.
We aim to provide fellowship and fun in the Philadelphia area as we gather and honor the personal and literary legacy of G.K. Chesterton.
